Friday, March
30, 2007, the World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS) youth
group visited HRMC patients. This marked the second, consecutive
WORCS visit to Holy Rosary. WORCS is an off road racing organization
complied of racers throughout the midwest and western states.
They compete at Clay Peaks Motocross Park in Payette annually.
A group of 15 racers, WORCS
owner - Pepper Reddish, the WORCS Kids (youth group) Coordinator
- Teresa Morros, and the Series Chaplin, all arrived at the hospital
to visit patients. The youth group consisted of boys and girls,
ages ranging from eight to eighteen. A professional racer also
accompanied the group and autographed gifts for patients, 19
year old Ricky Dietrich from Phoenix, AZ.
WORCS Kids all piled into patient
rooms to spend some time and wish them well. Patients were appreciative
of the kids making an effort to visit and spend time talking
with them. The group gave patients WORCS racing gifts (t-shirts,
posters, stickers, etc.). Before leaving each patient, the series
Chaplain conducted a prayer in which the entire group participated.
The WORCS racers and mentors
also left extra gifts to give to future HRMC patients. The visits
were well received and brightened HRMC patients’ hospital
stays! We look forward to the group returning again in 2008.
Shown below are some of athletes and their mentors
as they visited patients:

Holy
Rosary Medical Center wishes to thank this fine group of young
athletes and their mentors for taking the time to come and visit
patients. Their
cheerful presence brightened the day and touched the hearts of
many.
